Homemade Foot Creams

Feet are the most important part of the body and hard to keep healthy when one is in a rush. Baby oil, bath oil, even olive oil to massage your feet after a long day, is the least you could do!

Here are two easyily made creams to help rejuvenate your feet faster:

A cool cleansing foot cream:

Place about ¼ cup of almonds into a food processor and grind until you turn it into fine powder. Combine that with about ½ cup of cold cream and about 3 to 5 tablespoon of honey. Make sure you have washed your feet and patted them dry before you use the almond cream. Slowly massage the almond cream into your feet, giving particular attention to the “problem areas” like the heels, the areas between the toes, the balls of the feet, and even the ankles. Let your feet soak in the almond cream mixture for about 5 to 10 minutes afterwards. Wash again thoroughly and pat dry.

Use yogurt products as foot cream!! :

The good “bacteria” in the yogurt can help fight off any fungal growth, particularly those growing underneath and around the cuticles. You can add Vitamin E as well to the yogurt by simply piercing a capsule to release its oils. Soak your feet in this yogurt mixture for 5 to 10 minutes. However, make sure that you wash your feet thoroughly with soap afterwards. And again, pat dry.

Homemade Facial Moisturisers

Guarenteed to work and have you feeling fresh!!

Watermelon moisturiser

Take 1 slice of watermelon, one table spoon of lemon juice and then squeeze the juice of the lemon over the watermelon slice and keep it in the fridge for about 15 minutes. Take out the slice and cut it into bits and place it over your face. This will reduce body temperature and moisturises it.

Avocado moisturiser – over night

Take 1 teaspoon honey, 200 g curd, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, a medium size avocado. Mix honey and the pulp of the avocado and make a thick paste of it, then add lemon juice and curd to make still cream. Keep in the fridge for 30minutes. Massage the mixture well on face and neck, leave it on for one night and you will see a luster to your skin.

Homemade Handcream

These creams may be more expensive, but they work well and are better than all those chemicals which are used in store bought creams!! Try it an see!

Almond hand creams can be created by using ½ cup almond oil; ½ cup coconut oil; ¼ cup beeswax; and ¼ cup rosewater. Melt the beeswax and the coconut oil in the same method as that of the coconut hand creams. Add the remaining ingredients until everything is incorporated into one liquid mass. Allow to cool and then pour into a clean container. This cream is especially fragrant.

Coconut hand creams can be made from 1/3 cup glycerin; ¼ cup beeswax, ¼ cup coconut oil and about 3 to 5 tablespoons of baby oil. This concoction would entail a bit of cooking so you would need a double boiler to melt the beeswax with the coconut oil. Set on low flame and continue stirring all throughout. Add the rest of the ingredients once the beeswax has been thoroughly melted. Allow to cool and then pour into a clean container. You can use this as often as needed. You can also melt the beeswax in an ovenproof dish, placed in the microwave at 30 seconds to 1 minute at high heat.
